Welcome to the DARIEN SENIOR ACTIVITIES CENTER!

Seniors of the community gather together here for fellowship and useful learning pursuits. This lovely accommodation is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nutritious lunches are served at noon Mon-Wed, for which a $3.00 donation is requested (book by 11.45 a.m.).
*On Thursdays and Fridays, bring your own brown bag lunch. Coffee, tea and donuts are available all day on Thursdays and Fridays.

Aside from fellowship, the Center offers many creative activities for those interested.

CENTER OFFERINGS

Programs include:

  • Dance Class ($2.00 charge)
  • Discussion Groups
  • Exercise Classes
    (Pre, Semi, and
    Low Impact Classes)
  • Knitting and Needlepoint
  • Italian Conversation
  • Quilting Class
  • Writing workshops

Other facilities include: a gift-shop, a lending library and a super wood-working shop.

CENTER LOCATION

The Darien Senior Activities Center is located at 30 Edgerton Street, Darien, CT 06820. Telephone: 655-1705.

The Center is funded by the Town of Darien (Commission on Aging) and is open to Darien residents 60 years of age or older. The Center is wheelchair accessible.

CENTER SERVICES

Available to the Center are Gallivant Transportation Services, Friendly Visitors Services, a Coupon Exchange program and other Social Services including the Energy Assistance Program.

Also, blood-pressure readings are taken on the second Monday of each month (except from June to September).

CENTER DIRECTOR

The Center Director is Nancy Zengo.  Volunteers who would like to work at the Center should contact Nancy at 655-1705. Carolynn Lewis is the Assistant Director on Thursdays and Fridays.
